Amara Okonkwo
Partner · Head of Disputes · Contract disputes · Warranty claims · Injunctions
Amara Okonkwo leads the disputes practice and is the partner clients call when a commercial relationship has already broken, or is about to. She acts on warranty claims under sale and purchase agreements, supply-chain collapses, franchise terminations, and the urgent interim applications that freeze a position while the underlying case is prepared.
Her advocacy is precise rather than theatrical. She is known for early case theory, rigorous document control, and a willingness to recommend settlement when the merits or the commercial relationship justify it — and to refuse it when they do not. She regularly appears in the Commercial Court and conducts arbitration under LCIA and ICC rules.
Amara joined the partnership in 2018 after a decade at a specialist commercial set of chambers’ instructing solicitors firm. She feeds litigation outcomes back into the transactional practices so that tomorrow’s contracts reflect yesterday’s judgments.
