Eleanor Finch
Partner · Technology & Data · SaaS · IP licensing · Data contracts
Eleanor Finch built the firm’s technology and data practice. She advises product companies, enterprise buyers, and digital infrastructure providers on the contracts that govern software, data, and the people who implement both. Her clients include scale-ups closing their first enterprise deals and established groups replacing legacy systems under multi-year programmes.
She is particularly valued on acceptance regimes, IP allocation in collaborative builds, controller/processor structure under UK data protection law, and the exit provisions that boards now require before committing to long-term cloud or platform dependency. She works closely with Marcus Vane where a technology relationship is also a critical-vendor outsourcing.
Eleanor joined the firm as an associate in 2011 and made partner in 2021. She contributes to the firm’s insights series on software liability and open-source risk, and runs a quarterly clinic for in-house counsel on negotiation of vendor paper.
