Helena Greer founded the firm’s modern corporate practice and has led Greer, Vane & Thorold as Senior Partner since 2014. She acts for boards, major shareholders, and institutional bidders on mid-market and upper mid-market transactions where control, governance, and regulatory process have to move together.
Her work spans recommended and hostile public takeovers, private auction processes, secondary buy-outs, and the constitutional rewiring that follows a change of ownership. Clients instruct her when the transaction is politically sensitive inside the company, when the timetable is public, or when the equity structure after completion will matter more than the headline price.
Helena sits on the firm’s partnership board and chairs the conflicts and client-acceptance committee. She writes and lectures on directors’ duties in the transaction context and on the practical application of the Takeover Code to private-company processes that borrow its discipline without being bound by it.
