Submission Guidelines

Information for authors preparing a manuscript for submission to Materia.

Scope

Article Types

Research Articles — Full-length reports of original research, typically 6–14 journal pages.

Reviews — Critical surveys of a field or topic. Unsolicited proposals should be discussed with the editorial office first.

Technical Notes — Shorter communications (2–5 pages) reporting significant new methods, instruments, or computational tools.

Manuscript Preparation

Submissions accepted in LaTeX (preferred) or Word. Authors should use the Materia article template. Each manuscript must include:

  • A title of no more than 180 characters
  • A structured abstract of 150–250 words
  • Four to eight keywords
  • All author names, affiliations, and ORCID identifiers
  • Figures at publication resolution (min. 300 dpi)
  • Supplementary materials as a separate file
