Pre-submission checks used by the editorial office before peer review assignment.
Before Upload
Confirm that the title page includes affiliations and ORCID identifiers, the abstract is structured, all figures have captions, units are SI or SI-derived, and references include DOIs where available.
Declarations
Include funding, competing interests, author contributions, ethics approvals where relevant, and data/code availability statements. Manuscripts missing these items are returned before review.
